What does this subject cover?

Sports Studies provides an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge about different types of sports and physical activity as well as leadership skills in their own chosen sport. Students will also cover contemporary issues related to sport including participation, funding, ethics and hosting global events.

What does this mean for students?

Cambridge National in Sport Studies will encourage students to think for themselves about the study of sport and the application to real life practical sport, leadership and evaluation of the skills required there. They will study up to the minute topics affecting sport through the contemporary issues unit, both play and lead sporting activities, as well as having the chance to either explore the world of outdoor sport.

Further Learning

Students will be given the opportunity to access extra curriculum sport clubs to develop their practical skills. Also working closely with Doncaster Rugby League Club undertake an extra sports leadership qualification in Tag Rugby with a view to help organise further events.
