what does this qualification cover?

GCSE Option subject from Year 10

Year 10

During year 10 students will be introduced to collecting data. This will include new concepts and build upon those learned in GCSE mathematics. Students will then move onto processing, representing and analysing data and summarizing data. Many of the concepts learnt here will be brand new such as standard deviation.

Year 11

The start of year 11 will provide students opportunity to revise what they have learnt in the previous year. We will then build upon what they’ve learned by looking at scatter diagrams and correlation and time series analysis. The final topic learnt will be probability. This will build upon GCSE maths knowledge and add new concepts such as the normal distribution.
