Doncaster UTC Employer Engagement Event

Time: 16:30 - 19:00
Venue: Hilton Garden Inn, Doncaster Racecourse, Leger Way, Doncaster, DN2 6BB

We are pleased to invite you to our official launch of Doncaster University Technical College’s event to the Doncaster business community.

In September 2018, Doncaster UTC gained approval from the Department for Education to open in Doncaster’s town centre in September 2020.  Doncaster UTC will be a distinctive school led by employers to provide an innovative and engaging learning environment and unique learning experience.  The UTC will deliver a core curriculum based around STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects, with an opportunity for learners to specialise across four defined pathways; rail, digital design, construction & infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.

We want you to be part of this exciting new school from the beginning so you can be a part of shaping its development.  Your future employees will attend the UTC; by working with us now you will become an integral part of ensuring industry is within the DNA of Doncaster University Technical College’s curriculum.

How will you benefit from Doncaster UTC?

Nationally, in 2018:

  • 47% of UTC leavers went to university (28% nationally)

  • 54% of apprenticeships undertaken by UTC students are Higher or Degree level (20% nationally)
  • 27% of UTC leavers started an apprenticeship (6% nationally)

We are pleased to welcome The Rt Hon. Lord Kenneth Baker, Chairman and Trustee of Baker-Dearing Educational Trust to our event who will provide you with an insight into working with Doncaster UTC, how it will benefit your organisation, and the fantastic work and results seen elsewhere in the country.
