We want you to be happy and safe

The UTC's uniform policy is designed to encourage a purposeful and effective climate for learning.

All students should be smart, take pride in their appearance and dress appropriately within the ethos of a formal, academic working environment. All students should be aware that they represent the UTC when wearing the uniform both in and out of the UTC.

Girls

School blazer with badge (Cliffs)
School tie
Long or short white sleeved shirt, tucked in at all times
Doncaster UTC skirt  (Cliffs) or grey regular fit / tailored trousers that match the blazer (not skinny or jean fit)
Plain black/grey tights with skirt (40-70 denier)

Plain Black/grey socks with trousers

Boys

Instructions to follow for a better working environment

PE Kit
Plain white T-shirt or Polo Shirt
Black shorts (logos allowed)
Black/ grey or white ankle socks 

Shoes
Only plain black shoes can be worn with the uniform. No trainers, boots, pumps or canvas/fabric/suede shoes will be allowed. Heels should be no higher than 2.5 cm/1inch.

n.b.- If students are not wearing the correct footwear, after one reminder, they will be expected to borrow a pair of shoes from the student information desk – the shoes will be treated with a hygienic spray after each use. Please check with the Principal if you have any doubts

Bags
A work bag suitable for a work environment. Backpacks or shoulder bag but no handbags

Jewellery
Students may wear a watch and one pair of small stud earrings. Students are not permitted to wear any other jewellery.

Hairstyles 
Hairstyles should be neat in a natural colour and not be extreme in style. Parents should consult, in advance, if they are unsure as to the suitability of a change of style.  Caps of all kinds must not be worn in and around the UTC.

Make-up
Y9 may not wear make-up, nail varnish that is not natural or pastel in colour.  If make-up stands out, then students will be required to remove this using a make-up remover wipe. False nails are permitted but must be a sensible length and not hinder work or the use of a keyboard. If nail varnish is not natural or a pastel colour students will be required to remove this using nail varnish remover.

Coats
They must not be worn around the UTC during the school day. 

Mobile phones
These should not be seen around the UTC and will be confiscated if seen. They should be left in lockers for safe keeping. If a phone is confiscated parents will be asked to collect with no exception.

Response to Non-conformance: 
1st offence = Verbal Warning.  Opportunity to borrow uniform/go home and change (with parental consent).  Otherwise work in the Focus room, supervised by staff. 
2nd offence/subsequent offences = Written Warning.  Students will be isolated in the Focus room for the remainder of the day.  Students will remain in the Focus room until they are in the correct uniform.
Exceptions will be made for students who are not conforming to the uniform policy through no fault of their own (e.g. trousers split).

The Principal has the final say on whether clothing and appearance is appropriate

Equipment List Year Y9

For all lessons, everyday students will require

  • Blue/black pen
  • Red pen
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Highlighter

In addition to this for maths lessons, they will require

  • Protractor
  • Pair of compasses
  • Scientific calculator (Casio fx-83g Plusor Casio Classwiz fx991ex)

All of the above can be purchased from the UTC should students forget to come ready for learning (prices to follow).
